Following เกจวัดแรงดัน of 5 May 2021 updating the New Industrial Strategy proposed in 2020, the European Commission has further indicated that it’s going to rely quite closely on trade to deliver on the main challenges confronted by our economies and societies in Europe. This is especially the case in relation to sustainability, digital transformation, and international competitiveness, as nicely as the want to overcome the disaster provoked by the Covid-19 pandemic. The EU Recovery and Resilience Plan launched in Spring 2021 is basically building on the aptitude of European industry to design and produce the building blocks of the twin green and digital transition. At the identical time, the EU is shaping a dense regulatory framework that doesn’t all the time assist the liberty and flexibility wanted for corporations to grow and compete globally.
The European technology industries, and in particular our pumps, compressors, taps and valves sectors, have for a protracted time thought-about the enhancement of their international competitiveness throughout the challenges of societal and environmental challenges, notably by contributing to the preparation of energy efficiency and ecolabel regulations. In parallel, digitalisation has provided increased opportunities and brought new challenges, together with debates on the appropriate regulatory stage (sharing of business data, synthetic intelligence, cybersecurity, etc).
These developments, amidst ever extra fierce worldwide competitors, require that public authorities and trade in the EU work more and more extra intently to design and deploy strategies that reinforce our competitiveness and our contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In our specific area, that relates, of course, to the manufacture, distribution and use of pumps and all pump related equipment – an enormous and important subset of business, given the width and breadth of pump functions.
Against this backdrop, one of many major considerations when figuring out the core themes for the joint convention was to maintain a direct reference to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Within this focus, the three associations intend to focus on how, along with the importance for corporations to handle technical aspects impacting their daily business operations, they contemplate the optimistic role of industry in addressing societal challenges. Indeed, all the periods may have a technical theme matching essentially the most acceptable UN SDG, and with representation from the European Commission together with technical experts from industry and/or analysis institutes, they may every be reflective of the present legislative terrain, because it pertains to pumps and pumping techniques within the following key areas:
